A wedding is a very special day. As a photographer, it is your responsibility to capture all of the special moments. But, what exactly should you be photographing? Here is a list of must-have photographs that you should take on a wedding day.

The bride and groom
One of the most important things to photograph at a wedding is the bride and groom. You will want to make sure that you get photos of them together as well as individual shots. Another important thing to keep in mind is that you will want to get photos of the bride and groom with their parents. This is a shot that is often missed but can be very important to the couple.
The wedding party
Wedding photography is about so much more than just taking pictures of the bride and groom. While those are certainly important, there are plenty of other things that you should be photographing on the big day as well. One of those things is the wedding party.
The wedding party consists of the people who are closest to the bride and groom. This can include their parents, siblings, close friends, and anyone else who has been chosen to play a special role in the wedding. The wedding party will typically be involved in many of the key moments throughout the day, so it’s important to make sure that you get plenty of pictures of them.
Here are some tips for photographing the wedding party:

The ceremony

The reception

-Arrive early to take some shots of the venue before it gets too crowded. This can be a great way to capture the overall atmosphere of the day.
-Be prepared to move around and take advantage of all the different areas of the reception. Guests will be mingling, dancing, and sitting down, so make sure you capture all these moments.
– coordinator and ask them for a list of must-have shots. This can be things like the first dance, cutting the cake, etc. Make sure you get these key moments captured!
The guests
An important part of your wedding photography should be capturing the guests. This can be done in a number of ways, form posed portraits to more candid shots. Your photographer will be able to capture the emotions and relationships of your guests, which will add an extra layer to your wedding photos and help you to remember your day more vividly.
The decorations
On the big day, the ceremony and reception areas will be decorated with flowers, balloons, and other materials to add to the overall atmosphere. These decorations can make for some great photographs! Make sure to get a shot of the bride and groom with the decorations in the background, as well as some close-ups of particular elements that stand out to you.
The food
The food is one of the most important things to photograph at a wedding. Not only do you want to capture the beautiful displays and the delicious-looking meals, but you also want to document the specialties of the region or culture that are being represented. If the couple is from different cultures, be sure to get shots of both sets of traditional dishes.
The cake
Your wedding cake will be prominently displayed at your reception, so make sure you get some great shots of it! Focus on the details, like the decoration and texture of the icing, as well as the overall design. If there are multiple tiers, get a shot of each one. And don’t forget to photograph the cake cutting ceremony!
The first dance
Your first dance as a married couple is one of the most cherished moments of your wedding day, and one that you will want to remember forever. As your photographer, I will make sure to capture all the details and emotions of this moment, so that you can relive it every time you look at your wedding photos.
I always recommend doing a “first look” before the ceremony, so that we can get some beautiful portraits of you both together. This is a great opportunity to get some of the posed shots out of the way before the big day, and it will also help you feel more relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera.
If you decide not to do a first look, we can still get some great shots during your first dance. I will be sure to capture all the little details, like your dress flowing as you twirl around the dance floor, or the expression on your face as you look into each other’s eyes. I will also get some wider shots so that we can see both of you in full view, as well as some close-ups so that we can see all the emotions written on your faces.
The send-off
One of the most important photos at a wedding is the send-off, when the bride and groom depart for their honeymoon. This is typically a very emotional moment, so it’s important to be prepared to capture it. Here are some tips on how to photograph the wedding send-off:
-Arrive early to the ceremony site so you can choose the best spot to photograph the send-off.
-Frame the shot so that the couple is in the center, with their faces visible.
-Capturing movement can be tricky, so use a fast shutter speed to freeze the action.
-If possible, use a flash to illuminate the couple.
-Get creative with your angles and don’t be afraid to experiment!
